Friday, October 11 through Thursday, October 17th (at midnight)

Warm up your readers, gather your books, and get ready to play reading bingo to raise funds for Talley! Here’s how it goes:

Register your student(s) on the fundraising platform (please add their homeroom teacher as their ‘team’):

2. Start gathering pledges. Ask grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and neighbors to pledge an amount per square on your reading bingo card. We suggest $1-$10/square. Share our Reading Rally campaign:

3. Bingo cards will come home in Thursday folders on the 10th, and will also be available here to download in case it gets lost.

4. On Friday the 11th, start reading to complete your bingo activities. Try to make a bingo (5 in a row, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally), or go for the gold and aim for a total blackout (all 25 squares)!

6. Keep reading and bingo-ing through midnight on Thursday, October 17th. Bring in your bingo card on the 18th to turn into your homeroom teacher.

There are prizes!!:

The joy of reading: We love this event because of the excitement and diversity of reading activities it brings to our students. We think a big part of the fun of reading rally is the READING!
Participation: Everyone who turns their bingo cards back in on Friday the 18th will receive a themed participation prize and 5 house points!
Class level: The class in each grade with the highest total number of bingo squares completed will receive their choice of a class party. The teacher of the class with the most squares will receive what we hope will become the coveted annual reading rally classroom winner trophy!
Individual level: Everyone who completes a full bingo blackout (all 25 squares) will be entered into a drawing for prizes like bookstore gift cards and fun experiences in the Talley media center.

Why Do we have a REading Rally?

Our fall Reading Rally is a fun way to promote literacy while also raising funds to support teachers, staff, and students at Talley throughout the year. These funds raised will help:

Fund clubs and afterschool programs for students
Support community events like the popsicle social and more
Sponsor the True Book Fair and the 5th grade trip to Tybee
Support all other PTO missions and goals.
